The City of Orillia is exploring options for providing free public WiFi access in the downtown core, waterfront parks and potentially other key public buildings.

We are looking for information and best practices from other communities who are providing similar services around how this has been achieved, whether it be internally or via a third party supplier.

Examples of Requests for Proposals issued for third party suppliers would be appreciated.

Please send responses to Dan Landry, dlandry@orillia.ca

Does your community have an international business development strategy? Are you looking for in-market advice and expertise to implement your international initiatives and activities? As advertised in the recent EDCO Weekly Bulletin, the Ministry of International Trade is holding an event on Friday February 10th for communities to discuss international plans and priorities, including export, foreign direct investment and science, technology and innovation/R&D collaborations.

The HQ of Ontario's International Trade and Investment Offices will be organizing one-on-one consultations between communities and Ontario's Senior Economic Officer (similar to a B2B format). These 20-minute meetings will be an opportunity to discuss a specific project or initiative your team will be undertaking in 2017 and receive in-market expertise and advice.

Date and time:   Friday February 10, 2017

                                 8:30 am to 12:30 pm

Location:           Ontario Trade and Investment Centre

250 Yonge Street, 35th Floor, Toronto

To schedule meetings, please complete the survey below by 5 pm January 27th.

We are seeking communities that are currently undertaking international business development activities (as opposed to community presentations). The survey will provide the team with a clearer understanding of your international activities and market priorities. Please note: we cannot guarantee how many meetings each community will be granted - this will be determined based on registration and the information provided in the survey. Our goal is to make your meeting schedule as efficient and relevant as possible. Please fill out the survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/EDCO_community_qualification

If you have any questions, please contact Pranab Shah at Pranab.shah@ontario.ca
